What is a cold brew system

A cold brew system is used to prepare coffee through cold extraction – ground coffee steeps in cold water for many hours without heating, producing a concentrate with a smoother flavour and lower acidity than classic drip brewing. It typically includes a steeping container, a filter, and a decanter or storage vessel for the finished drink.

When it's worth getting a new one

If the original container or filter becomes damaged, cracked, leaky, or loses its filtering ability, the resulting drink may contain sediment or lose its clean flavour. A damaged seal will also cause liquid to leak during steeping or storage.

A properly working system ensures even extraction and a clean, clear concentrate, which is directly reflected in the taste of the prepared coffee.
