What is the water tank seal

The water tank seal ensures a tight connection between the tank and the coffee machine body, or between the tank and the valve through which water enters the system. Its role is to keep the water within a closed circuit so that no leaks occur outside the intended path, whether during intake or operation.

Signs of wear

Over time, the rubber or silicone seal loses its elasticity, hardens, or cracks. This shows up as water dripping or leaking from under the tank, damp spots inside the coffee machine, or the machine reporting a lack of water even though the tank is full. Problems with water intake and inconsistent pressure during brewing may also occur.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A leaking tank not only causes unpleasant moisture around the coffee machine, but the escaping water can also reach the electronics or heating system, leading to further faults. Replacing this small seal is a simple way to prevent bigger, more costly repairs.
