What is a water level probe

The water level probe is a sensing element located in the boiler or tank of the coffee machine that monitors the water level and signals the electronics when to refill water or stop pumping. Without a properly functioning probe, the machine cannot reliably maintain the amount of water needed to prepare coffee and steam.

Signs of wear or malfunction

• The boiler overfills or, conversely, remains almost empty
• The coffee machine reports a lack of water even though the tank is full
• Irregular water refilling, frequent pump switching on and off
• Fluctuations in temperature and pressure affecting coffee extraction quality
