What is a milk frother

The milk frother is part of the coffee machine's milk system that draws in air and milk and blends them into the fine foam needed for cappuccino or latte. Depending on the coffee machine's design, it may be a nozzle, jet or small mechanical attachment that connects to the steam or milk circuit.

Typical signs of wear

When the frother is dirty, clogged with dried milk or mechanically damaged, the foam becomes thin, uneven or is missing entirely. Leaks, dripping milk, air hissing in the wrong place, or unpleasant noise when starting the frothing process are also common.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A worn or clogged frother cannot always be cleaned back to its original condition, and small cracks or deformations affect both milk and air flow. Replacing it restores foam quality and prevents unnecessary milk leakage outside the system.
