What is a valve water filter and what is it for

The valve water filter is a small filter insert located directly in the hydraulic module or near the coffee machine's valve. It captures mechanical impurities, limescale deposits and fine particles before they reach the sensitive parts of the valve or the water level system. This protects the internal mechanisms from clogging and premature wear.

How to spot wear

• Irregular or slow water flow
• Increased valve noise when switching
• Incorrect operation of the water level sensor
• Water leakage at the valve
• Deteriorated coffee taste caused by deposits

A clogged or damaged filter restricts water flow and increases the load on the valve, which can lead to its premature failure. Timely filter replacement is therefore a cheaper and simpler solution than a later repair of the entire valve or hydraulic module.
