What is a tamper handle

The handle (grip) is the part of the tamper that the barista holds in their hand while pressing coffee into the portafilter basket. It is not the tamping base itself, but the grip section that attaches to it and allows controlled, even pressure when preparing espresso.

When the part stops doing its job
