What is the grind adjustment gear wheel

This is a small gear component in the coffee maker's grinder that transmits movement from the grind adjustment control to the mechanism that moves the grinding discs closer together or farther apart. Thanks to it, you can smoothly change the coarseness of the ground coffee depending on the brewing method.

When the part stops doing its job

When the teeth of the wheel are worn or cracked, the adjustment mechanism skips, grinds, or won't turn at all. A damaged wheel can cause the setting to shift on its own or get stuck in one position, leading to persistently poor coffee extraction. If the teeth break completely, the grinding discs may come into direct contact, increasing the risk of damage to them.
