What this seal does

The grinder hopper seal or bean container seal is located between the coffee bean container and the grinder body. Its job is to ensure a firm and tight connection, so that beans don't fall outside the grinding area while grinding, and so that moisture or dirt cannot get into the mechanism.

When the part stops doing its job

An old or hardened seal loses its elasticity and stops performing its function. This shows up as beans falling out around the container, the container sitting loosely or wobbling, or an unpleasant squeaking when fitting or turning the hopper. Sometimes cracking or deformation of the rubber ring itself is also visible.

When it's time for a replacement

A leaking hopper causes loss of coffee beans, mess around the grinder, and in some cases unstable dosing, which affects the amount of ground coffee per dose. Timely replacement of the seal extends the life of both the container and the grinding mechanism.

How to choose the right seal

• Check compatibility in the product table according to your coffee machine's model.
• When ordering, check whether it's a seal for the grinder hopper or one that fits directly on the edge of the bean container, since they differ slightly in shape and position.
