What a solenoid valve is

A solenoid valve controls the flow of water or steam in a coffee machine. Triggered by an electrical impulse, it opens and closes to direct water into the boiler, brew head or steam wand precisely when needed.

Signs of wear

A worn or damaged valve can cause leaking and dripping water outside the brewing cycle, incomplete or irregular flow, noisy clicking or buzzing, or a complete loss of function where water fails to reach the correct spot. This can result in inconsistent coffee taste, weak pressure or error messages on the display.

When it's time for a replacement

A leaking valve unnecessarily increases water consumption and can cause leaks into the electronics or other components of the coffee machine. Timely replacement prevents bigger faults and keeps the brewing process stable.
