What the drain valve does

The drain valve ensures controlled discharge of water or excess pressure from the coffee machine's circuit, for example during brewing, rinsing, or descaling. It opens and closes automatically according to the control unit's instructions, ensuring that water goes where it should and in the correct amount.

How to spot wear

A worn or leaking valve can show up as water escaping outside the waste container, dripping from the machine's base, incorrect pressure during coffee preparation, or an error message on the display. Sometimes an unusual sound can also be heard when the water flow starts or stops.

When it's time for a replacement

A leaking valve gradually worsens the quality of coffee extraction and can cause damage to surrounding components due to moisture. Timely replacement prevents bigger failures and keeps the machine running smoothly.
