Portafilter Coffee Spout

The spout is a part of the portafilter through which brewed coffee flows from the coffee machine into the cup. It is attached or fitted to the bottom of the portafilter and directs the stream of espresso exactly where it should go - into one or two cups at a time.

Signs of Wear

You can recognize an old or damaged spout by an uneven or splashing coffee stream, dripping down the sides, or visible scratches, oxidized stains, or cracks on the surface. Aesthetic qualities also change - the surface loses its shine and becomes harder to keep clean.
