What is a safety valve and what is it for

The safety valve is a component of the coffee machine's pressure system that protects the boiler or thermoblock from excessive pressure. When the safe pressure level is exceeded, it automatically opens and releases excess steam or water out of the system, preventing damage to the machine or risk to the user.

Typical signs of wear

A worn or damaged valve can cause water or steam leakage even at normal pressure, hissing, dripping under the machine, or conversely an inability to release pressure, leading to error messages or the machine stopping completely. In some cases, the valve gets stuck in the open or closed position.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

The safety valve has a direct impact on the operational safety of the coffee machine. Ignoring it can cause damage to the boiler, leakage of hot water or steam, and in extreme cases, damage to other components of the machine. Replacement at the first signs of failure is therefore advisable.
