What is a steam pipe and what is it for

The steam pipe is a rigid tube through which steam flows from the coffee machine's boiler out to the milk frothing nozzle or water heater. It is part of the steam wand and must withstand high temperature and pressure with every use.

Signs of wear

A damaged or corroded pipe shows itself through steam leaking outside the nozzle, a weak or uneven steam flow, loud hissing, or visible stains, a peeling surface or cracks. Over time, the quality of the frothed milk may also deteriorate, since the steam no longer has sufficient pressure.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement
