What the water filter does

The water filter is part of the coffee machine's water system and captures mechanical impurities and some of the minerals contained in the water before they reach the boiler, pump or flow paths. This protects the internal components from limescale buildup and contamination.

Signs of wear

A clogged or exhausted filter loses its ability to capture minerals and impurities. This shows up as a change in coffee taste, faster limescale buildup on the boiler and heating elements, a drop in water flow or pressure, and in some cases a noisier pump.

Why timely replacement pays off

Timely replacement of the filter reduces the risk of deposits forming in sensitive parts of the water system, which are more difficult and costly to remove afterwards. Regular replacement also helps maintain a consistent coffee taste and reduces the need for more frequent descaling.
