What is the water tank lid

The water tank lid is the top cover that seals the water reservoir in the coffee machine. It prevents dust and dirt from getting into the water, reduces evaporation and helps keep the entire system clean, from which water is drawn for heating and brewing.

When the part stops doing its job

Over time, the lid may lose its tight fit, crack or become deformed. This shows up as loose seating, visible cracks, harder opening or closing, or dust and dirt getting into the tank more easily. A damaged lid can also cause the tank to close incompletely, leading to faster contamination of the water.
