What is a water filter holder

The water filter holder is a plastic part located in the coffee machine's water tank. Its job is to firmly hold the water filter in the correct position and ensure that water flows through the filter rather than around it. This removes limescale and impurities from the water before it reaches the machine's internal circuits.

How to spot wear

If the holder is cracked, bent, or missing its fastening mechanism, the filter moves freely in the tank, doesn't sit tightly, or falls out. Water then bypasses the filter cartridge, which results in faster limescale buildup in the coffee machine, a change in coffee taste, or a filter recognition error on the display.

Why timely replacement pays off
