What is a flow meter and what is it for

When the flow meter wears out or limescale or debris builds up inside it, dosing becomes inaccurate - the coffee comes out weaker or stronger, or the machine fails to stop the flow at all, or displays a dosing-related error. Sometimes water leakage may also appear at the connection point if the seal or fitting is also damaged.
