Vaseline 6g for the brew unit

Is your coffee machine squeaking during brewing, is the brew unit jamming, or is ground coffee falling into the drip tray instead of the brew unit? In most cases the cause is a dry, insufficiently lubricated brew unit. Grease 6g (part number 1180006) is a food-grade lubricant designed specifically for this purpose — lubricating seals, O-rings, the piston and the moving mechanical parts of the brew unit.

Important — verify your model: Before ordering, confirm the exact model and version of your coffee machine on the rating plate (usually on the underside of the appliance or behind the water tank). This lubricant is universal and suitable for brew units in common automatic coffee machines; however, when ordering additional spare parts (seals, O-rings) always work from the exact model designation.

When does this part need lubricating? (Fault symptoms)

The brew unit needs to be lubricated if you notice any of the following symptoms:

• Squeaking or creaking sounds during machine operation that were not present before
• The brew unit jams and the machine cannot drive it to the end position; the cycle is interrupted
• The machine motor strains and ground coffee spills into the drip tray instead of the brew unit
• Water leaks through worn brew unit seals into the drip tray or underneath the machine

Where and how to use the Grease 6g?

Use food-grade lubricant only — standard technical greases are not safe for contact with foodstuffs. Apply Grease 6g in a thin layer to the following parts:

• Piston seals and O-rings: a thin layer on the piston lip seal and O-rings restores a proper seal and smooth movement
• Gear wheels and shaft: lubricating the gears on the side of the brew unit eliminates squeaking; work the lubricant in by moving the piston up and down
• Drive shaft in the machine shaft housing: eases insertion and removal of the brew unit

Apply sparingly — too much lubricant on a vertical shaft can actually increase resistance.
