Function of the vacuum/anti-vacuum valve

This valve is part of the coffee machine's boiler and is responsible for equalizing pressure. As the water in the boiler cools, a vacuum can form which, without this valve, could damage seals or prevent proper water filling. At that moment, the valve opens and lets in air, equalizing the vacuum. The design typically includes a weight that ensures the valve remains closed during normal operation under pressure.

Signs of wear

A worn or clogged valve can be recognized by water or steam leaking at its seat, irregular or incomplete boiler filling, or noisy bubbling or hissing during heating. Sometimes pressure fluctuations also occur, affecting the quality of coffee preparation.
