What is a grinding burr seal

The grinding burr seal is a small rubber or silicone element placed between the grinding burr and its housing in the coffee machine's grinder. Its role is to separate the grinding space from the surrounding parts of the mechanism and prevent coffee dust or small particles from escaping outside the grinding chamber.

How to spot wear

When the seal hardens, cracks or loses its elasticity, coffee dust starts getting into the space around the grinder, grinding can become uneven, and dirt accumulates in the mechanism. Sometimes there is also increased noise during grinding or a feeling that the burr is slightly loose in its housing.

When it's time for a replacement

A damaged or worn seal no longer performs its sealing function properly, which can gradually affect grinding accuracy and the cleanliness of the grinder mechanism. Timely replacement helps maintain stable grinding and prevents unnecessary wear of the surrounding parts.
