What is a steam/cappuccino diffuser

The steam or cappuccino diffuser is a part of the coffee machine's frothing system that directs steam or a mix of steam and milk to the outlet and distributes it evenly when preparing frothed milk. It ensures the steam reaches exactly where it should and that the milk froths consistently every time.

Typical signs of wear

When the part is worn, clogged with dried milk, or cracked, it shows up as uneven froth, a weak or absent steam flow, water leaking around the joint, or hissing or other unusual noises during frothing. The coffee machine may also report an error related to the steam system.
