What a solenoid valve is

A solenoid valve controls the flow of water or steam in a coffee machine. Triggered by an electrical impulse, it opens and closes to direct water into the boiler, brew head or steam wand precisely when needed.

Signs of wear

A worn or damaged valve can cause leaking and dripping water outside the brewing cycle, incomplete or irregular flow, noisy clicking or buzzing, or a complete loss of function where water fails to reach the correct spot. This can result in inconsistent coffee taste, weak pressure or error messages on the display.
