What the three-way solenoid valve does

The three-way solenoid valve controls the direction of water or steam in the coffee machine. On an electrical signal, it opens and closes flow paths between the boiler, the brewing unit and the drain, enabling correct brewing sequences, pressure release or switching between hot water and steam.

When the part stops doing its job

A worn or damaged valve shows up as leaking or dripping water outside the correct circuit, insufficient or inconsistent pressure during brewing, noisy clicking or buzzing of the coil, or a complete loss of function when the machine stops switching flow in the right direction. An error message on the display or an unusual water leak during operation may also appear.
