What is a brew head

The brew head is the part of the coffee machine through which hot water passes under pressure into the coffee. It ensures even distribution of water over the ground coffee and maintains the pressure needed for proper espresso extraction.

Signs of wear

Over time, limescale and coffee oil residue build up on the head, which can cause uneven brewing, water leaking from the sides, a change in coffee taste, or a drop in pressure. If the seal is damaged or the head is deformed, noise or dripping after brewing may also occur.
