What is a shower screen holder

The shower screen holder (diffuser holder) is a component of the coffee machine's brew head that holds and secures the shower screen in place. It ensures even distribution of water from the boiler through the screen into the coffee and maintains a tight, stable connection between the head and the screen throughout espresso preparation.

Signs of wear

If the holder is worn, damaged or corroded, the screen may sit loosely, wobble or fail to seal properly. This results in uneven extraction, water leaking around the screen, inconsistent coffee taste, or even the screen coming loose during preparation. A damaged thread or deformed shape also makes assembly and disassembly for cleaning more difficult.

When it's time for a replacement

A functional holder is the foundation of a stable and safe brewing unit. Replacing it in time prevents inconsistent coffee quality, unnecessary water leakage and the risk of damage to surrounding brew head parts caused by repeated improper seating of the screen.
