What is a washer and what is it for

A washer is a simple yet important part used in a coffee machine to seal a joint, distribute pressure between components, or act as a separating element between metal parts. It can be found, for example, at screw connections, valves, hoses, or the water and steam inlet.

How to spot wear

A worn or damaged washer loses its shape or elasticity, which shows up as a loose joint, water or steam leakage, dripping, or unusual noise during coffee preparation. In some cases, a leak can also lead to a drop in pressure and reduced quality of the prepared beverage.
