What is a round copper gasket

A round copper gasket is used in coffee machines in places where a joint exposed to high temperature and pressure needs to be reliably sealed, for example between metal boiler parts or along the water flow path. Thanks to its malleability, the copper gasket conforms to the surface of the joint when tightened, preventing water or steam from leaking.

How to spot wear

An old or damaged gasket loses its ability to seal perfectly, which shows up as dripping or leaking water or steam at the joint, or as a drop in system pressure. Sometimes a faint smell of burnt metal appears if the gasket starts to degrade under high temperature.

Why timely replacement pays off

A leaking joint can gradually damage surrounding parts through moisture or overheating and reduces the efficiency of coffee preparation. Replacing the gasket in time is a simple and inexpensive way to avoid bigger repairs.
