What is a valve seal

A valve seal is a rubber or silicone component that ensures a tight closure of the valve in a coffee machine - most often a pressure or lever valve. It prevents water, steam, or pressure from escaping outside the defined path and allows the valve to reliably open and close the flow as needed.

Signs of wear

A worn or hardened seal will show itself through leaking water or steam around the valve, fluctuating pressure, hissing, or the valve failing to hold pressure or close completely. Dripping from the machine outside of normal operation can also occur.

Why replace this part in time

A leaking valve affects the pressure needed for proper coffee extraction, can cause water wastage, and in some cases even damage to surrounding components due to moisture. Replacing the seal is a simple and inexpensive way to restore the valve's proper function without intervening in the entire mechanism.
