What is a microswitch holder

The microswitch holder is a plastic part that keeps the microswitch in the exact position inside the coffee machine. The microswitch signals the electronics about the state of a moving part, such as the position of a valve, lever, or door. Without a properly mounted switch, the control unit cannot reliably detect the current state of that mechanism.

Signs of wear or damage

If the holder is cracked, broken, or loose, the microswitch can shift or fall completely out of position. The coffee machine may then report an error, fail to start, stop recognizing a certain brewing step, or behave unpredictably, even though the switch itself is still functional.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A damaged holder causes the switch to work unreliably, which shows up as repeated error messages or loss of function. Replacing the holder itself is a simpler and cheaper fix than later repairing the entire mechanism or a damaged switch.
