What is a pressure switch and what does it do

The pressure switch, also called a pressostat, is a component that monitors the pressure in the coffee machine's boiler and switches the heating on or off accordingly. It helps maintain the stable steam and water pressure needed for brewing coffee and frothing milk.

Signs of wear or malfunction

When the pressure switch stops working reliably, the pressure in the boiler fluctuates, and the coffee machine may overheat or fail to reach the required pressure. This can show up as unstable water temperature, weak steam, unusual clicking sounds from the contacts, or the heating not switching off at all, risking overheating of the machine.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement
