What is a valve body

The valve body is a solid structural part that houses the valve's internal components – the diaphragm, seals, and possibly a piston or spring. It forms the base through which water, steam, or pressurized air flows in the coffee machine, and keeps the whole circuit sealed.

How to spot wear

If the valve body is damaged, cracked, or corroded, this shows up as water or steam leaking outside the system, a drop in pressure, irregular boiler operation, or constant dripping from a spot that should stay dry. Sometimes you may also notice hissing or unusual noise when the valve switches.

When it's time for a replacement

A damaged valve body usually can't be fixed just by replacing the seal – if the body itself is cracked or deformed, the leak keeps coming back. Delaying the replacement can lead to greater water leakage, damage to surrounding parts, or a boiler failure.

How to choose the right part
