What is a blind seal

A blind seal is used to close an opening or connection that is not used in a given coffee machine. It is not a functional element of water or steam flow, but a sealing element that prevents pressure or water from escaping at a point where no hose or fitting is connected.

When the part stops doing its job

If the seal loses its elasticity, cracks or hardens, it will no longer seal perfectly, and dripping water, hissing escaping steam, or a drop in system pressure may appear at the closure point. The coffee machine may lose performance even though the circuit itself is otherwise fine.

When it's time for a replacement

A leaking seal unnecessarily burdens the pump or boiler, as the system must compensate for the leak. Timely replacement is a simple and inexpensive fix that prevents bigger problems with pressure and moisture around the machine.
