What the main power switch does

The main power switch is used to turn the coffee machine's power on and off. It is a mechanical or electronic component through which the entire electrical current supply to the appliance passes, and pressing it activates the heating element, pump, and electronics of the device.

Signs of wear or malfunction

• The coffee machine doesn't turn on at all, or only occasionally after pressing multiple times
• The switch sticks, sinks in, or doesn't hold its position
• Crackling or sparking sounds are heard when pressed, or a burning smell is noticeable
• The power indicator light flickers or turns on irregularly

When it's time for a replacement

A worn or damaged switch is a safety risk, as it switches mains voltage directly during operation. Intermittent contact can also damage other electronic components of the coffee machine. Replacing it with a functional part restores reliable and safe switching on of the device.
