What is the brew group diffuser

The diffuser is a part of the brew head that evenly distributes hot water from the boiler into the coffee puck. Instead of a single stream of water, it creates a fine network of smaller streams that pass through the shower screen and evenly moisten the entire coffee puck.

How to spot wear

When the diffuser is clogged with limescale or microscopic coffee residue, water starts to be distributed unevenly. This results in uneven extraction, sour or bitter espresso taste, channeling in the puck, and sometimes slower or irregular flow through the group.

When it's time for a replacement

A worn or damaged diffuser is difficult to clean thoroughly and its performance will not improve over time. Replacing it restores even moistening of the coffee, which directly translates into a more stable and cleaner cup taste.
