What is a safety/pressure relief valve

The safety (pressure relief) valve is a safety component of the coffee machine's boiler. Its job is to release excess steam or water pressure when the pressure in the boiler exceeds a safe limit, protecting both the coffee machine and the user from damage or injury.

Signs of wear or failure

A worn or clogged valve may show itself through water or steam leaking even at normal pressure, hissing from the boiler, fluctuating pressure during coffee preparation, or, on the contrary, failing to react at all when pressure is exceeded. Some coffee machines will display an error message or shut down automatically for safety reasons in such cases.

Why replace this part in time

This is a safety component, so its function should not be underestimated. A leaking or non-functioning valve poses a risk of uncontrolled pressure buildup in the boiler, which can damage other parts of the coffee machine and endanger the operator.
