What is a heating element seal

The heating element or thermoblock seal closes the joint between the body that heats the water and the surrounding pipes or inlets. It prevents hot water and steam from escaping the intended flow path and maintains the necessary pressure in the system.

When the part stops doing its job

An old or hardened seal loses its elasticity and stops sealing properly. This shows up as dripping or leaking water around the heating element, hissing steam outside the nozzle, longer heating times, fluctuating pressure, or error messages related to water temperature or pressure. Sometimes you can see moisture or limescale directly at the joint.
