What a flexible connecting hose is

The flexible hose connects the individual parts of the coffee machine through which water or pressurized steam flows – for example between the boiler, pump, valves or water inlet. Thanks to its flexibility, it allows components to be connected even where a rigid pipe is not possible, while also dampening minor vibrations during operation.

Signs of wear

Over time, the hose material loses its elasticity, cracks, or loosens at the threaded connections at its ends. Common symptoms include dripping or leaking water or steam at the connection point, a drop in pressure, uneven flow, or visible traces of moisture and limescale around the joint. In worse cases, the hose may burst during operation.

When it's time for a replacement

A damaged hose increases the risk of a larger water leak, damage to surrounding components or the coffee machine's electronics. Timely replacement prevents sudden failure and maintains the stable pressure needed for proper coffee brewing.
