What is a noise suppression filter with capacitor

The noise suppression filter with capacitor is an electronic component connected in the power supply circuit of the coffee machine. Its purpose is to suppress electromagnetic interference generated by the operation of motors, the pump or switching elements, and thus protect the control electronics from unwanted impulses from the mains and vice versa.

Signs of wear or failure

When the filter or the capacitor inside it degrades, the coffee machine may interfere with other household appliances, restart on its own, drop out during operation, or display nonsensical error states without an apparent cause. In some cases, noticeable buzzing or increased heat may also appear at the location of the filter.
