What is a coffee machine seal and what is it for
A seal is a rubber or silicone component that separates individual parts of a coffee machine and prevents water, steam or pressure from escaping their intended path. It is found, for example, around the brewing unit, the flow heater or other joints through which water or steam passes under pressure.
Signs of wear
- The coffee machine leaks or drips in places it shouldn't
- Hissing or escaping steam can be heard while brewing coffee
- Pressure in the machine drops and coffee is brewed more slowly or unevenly
- The seal shows visible signs of hardening, cracking or deformation
Why replace the seal in time
A worn or hardened seal loses its elasticity and no longer seals perfectly. This results not only in water or steam leaks but also unnecessary strain on other parts of the coffee machine, which must compensate for the loss of pressure. Timely replacement prevents bigger faults and keeps coffee quality consistent.
Buying advice
Seals differ in shape and placement depending on the specific coffee machine model, so check compatibility in the product table before purchasing.
