What the bean hopper lid does

The lid covers the bean hopper in the coffee machine's grinder and protects the beans from dust, moisture, light and odours from the surrounding environment. It also prevents the beans from spilling out during handling or refilling and helps keep the coffee's aroma fresh for longer.

Signs of wear or malfunction

• The lid sits loosely, wobbles or doesn't fully close onto the hopper
• Cracked or broken clip, hinge or edge of the lid
• The hopper isn't sealed properly and the beans lose their aroma faster
• Dust or moisture from the surroundings gets into the hopper

Why timely replacement pays off

A damaged or poorly sealing lid reduces the quality of the stored beans and can affect the final taste of the coffee. In addition, if the lid is visibly cracked, parts of it may fall into the grinder and cause further damage.
