What is the grinder unit

The grinder unit is a complete functional assembly that grinds coffee beans to the desired coarseness just before brewing espresso. It includes the mechanism of grinding burrs or blades along with the housing and drive that ensures smooth and even operation of the grinder in the coffee machine.

Typical signs of wear

A worn or damaged grinder unit will show itself through uneven grind coarseness, leading to inconsistent coffee taste, either too bitter or too watery. Increased grinding noise, vibrations, slowing down of the grinder, or complete stoppage are also common.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

Timely replacement of the grinder unit prevents further damage to surrounding coffee machine components, such as the gearbox or motor, and maintains stable coffee quality. Delaying the replacement can result in the grinder being completely put out of operation.
