What is the fabric hose in a coffee machine

The fabric (textile) hose carries water or steam between individual parts of the coffee machine, for example between the boiler, pump, flow heater and brewing unit. The outer fabric layer increases the hose's resistance to heat, pressure and mechanical stress when bending, which is especially important in places with limited space inside the appliance.

How to spot wear

Over time, the hose can lose flexibility, crack or come loose at the joints. This shows up as water leaking inside the coffee machine, dripping under the appliance, a drop in pressure when preparing coffee or steam, or an error message related to pressure or water flow.
