What is an anti-vibration mount and what is it for

An anti-vibration mount is a rubber or silicone pad used in a coffee machine to attach the pump, motor or other moving parts to the appliance's frame. Its role is to dampen vibrations and shaking generated during operation and prevent them from being transferred to the coffee machine's structure.

Signs of wear

Through aging or heat exposure, the mount loses its elasticity, hardens, cracks or becomes deformed. This results in increased noise during operation, more noticeable vibration of the whole appliance, and in some cases even loosening of the screw joint it was originally meant to dampen.

When it's time for a replacement

A worn mount no longer performs its dampening function, which can lead to faster wear of surrounding components, loosening of joints and increased noise while the coffee machine is running. Timely replacement helps keep the appliance running smoothly and quietly.
