What is a steam valve

The steam valve is a part of the milk frother that regulates the flow of steam from the boiler to the nozzle. By opening and closing, it allows you to control the strength and amount of steam needed to froth milk. It is often accompanied by a control knob or lever, or sometimes the nozzle itself.

When the part stops doing its job

A worn or damaged valve shows itself through steam leaking even when not in use, controls becoming stiff or too loose, an uneven steam flow, or a complete loss of sealing. Milk is then frothed unevenly, or steam continues to escape even after the valve is closed.

When it's time for a replacement

A leaking valve increases water and energy consumption, puts strain on the boiler and can lead to faster wear of other frother components. Timely replacement restores smooth and safe steam control and extends the lifespan of the entire milk frothing system.
