What is a temperature sensor and what it's for

The temperature sensor measures the temperature of water or steam in the coffee machine and sends this information to the control unit, which uses it to regulate the heating of the boiler or the flow heater. Thanks to accurate readings from the sensor, the coffee machine maintains the temperature within the range needed for coffee extraction or for preparing steam and milk.

Signs of wear or malfunction

• Fluctuating or incorrect water temperature that changes the taste of the coffee
• Steam that is too hot or too cold when frothing milk
• The coffee machine reports a heating error or switches itself off
• Longer heating time or constant reheating

When it's time for a replacement

A faulty or inaccurate sensor means the control unit no longer has a reliable temperature reading and cannot regulate it properly. This leads to poor-quality coffee, unnecessary wear on the heating element, and in some cases even safety-related error states in the appliance. Timely replacement prevents bigger heating problems.
