Gaskets and O-Rings for Coffee Machines - Compatible with - JUNIOR-EXTRA (201105-)

O-rings and gaskets are critical components that ensure watertight and vapor-tight operation of the coffee maker. Without properly functioning gaskets, pressure leaks occur, which significantly reduces the quality of extraction and can lead to damage to the internal mechanisms.

Seal types by application include piston seals for brew units, O-rings for hydraulic connections, flange seals for thermoblocks, and special high-temperature gaskets for steam systems. Each type has specific material and dimensional requirements.

Material properties of modern coffee machine gaskets must meet strict criteria - resistance to temperatures up to 150°C, compatibility with food oils, chemical resistance to descaling agents and long-term elasticity under repeated deformations.

DeLonghi brew units typically use two O-rings on the piston - the primary to gasket against pressure and the secondary to catch minor leaks. When replacing, it is essential to use food grade silicone grease for proper function and extended life.

Moka coffee makers and their specifics require gaskets that can withstand extreme temperature cycles and high steam pressure. It is recommended that the rubber gasket in a mocha coffee maker be replaced every 12-18 months or at the first sign of wear.

Indicators of the need for replacement include visible water leaks during operation, a drop in extraction pressure, changes in foam consistency, or visual damage to the gasket (cracks, warping, hardening of the material).

The replacement and maintenance process requires disassembly of the appropriate knot, thorough cleaning of the grooves of old grease residue and deposits, application of a thin layer of silicone grease, and accurate fitting of the new gasket according to the guide marks.

Make Compatibility - While some O-rings are universal in dimensions, specialized gaskets for Krups, Philips, DeLonghi or Saeco often require original parts due to unique shapes and material specifications.
