With De’Longhi coffee machines, a common cause of water leaking into the drip tray is a damaged mechanical piston valve. This valve ensures proper water flow during coffee preparation. If the valve is worn, dirty, or mechanically damaged, the water flows into the drip tray instead of the cup.

The problem usually develops gradually – the coffee becomes weaker, less water flows into the cup, and the amount of water in the drip tray increases. This is often the result of long-term use, limescale buildup, or insufficient maintenance of the infuser.

The solution is to replace the mechanical piston valve. After replacement, the valve correctly regulates the water flow again and the coffee machine operates without leaks.

Why does my Jura coffee machine show Error 8?

Error 8 (Störung 8) means the brew unit is not in the correct position.

Typical symptoms:

• Coffee machine does not brew coffee
• Loud noise resembling a drill
• Error message appears repeatedly

The problem develops gradually – first occasional messages, later complete failure. In most cases, the cause is a worn brew unit that cannot return to its home position.

After replacing the brew unit, Error 8 disappears and the coffee machine operates quietly and reliably again.

If your DeLonghi coffee machine is not frothing milk or produces only thin, watery foam, the cause is almost always a damaged component in the frothing system. The nozzle, milk container, or valve ensures proper air intake needed to create quality foam.

The problem usually develops gradually – first less foam, then almost none. The cause is typically milk residue buildup in the system, a worn milk container, or a clogged nozzle.

The solution is to replace the damaged component. After replacement, your coffee machine will again produce thick, creamy milk foam like new.

Jura coffee machine – makes bad coffee

If your Jura coffee machine makes coffee with a bad taste – too bitter, sour, or weak – the cause is almost always a worn grinder. Dull or damaged burrs cannot grind beans properly, which directly affects extraction and the taste of every cup.

The problem usually develops gradually – first a subtle change in taste, then increasingly noticeable. A worn grinder produces uneven grounds – some particles too coarse, others too fine, causing over-extraction or under-extraction.

The solution is to replace the burrs or the entire grinder. After replacement, your Jura coffee machine will again produce coffee with full, balanced taste like new.
