Function of the part

The water tank holder is a plastic or metal component that keeps the water tank (and possibly the water filter inside it) securely positioned within the coffee machine body. It ensures the tank sits firmly in place, aligns correctly with the water outlet, and sometimes also holds the filter cartridge inside the tank.

Typical signs of wear

When the holder is cracked, loose, or deformed, the tank no longer sits firmly in place — it may slide out, wobble, or leak. This often results in water leaking around the tank, an error message about missing water despite a full tank, or the filter falling out of position.

Why you shouldn't put off the replacement

A faulty or damaged holder can cause the water level sensor to malfunction, leading to interrupted coffee brewing or unnecessary error messages. Water leaking around the tank can also damage the coffee machine's internal electronic components.
