What is a connector and what is it for

A connector is a small plastic or rubber part that joins two sections of the water or steam circuit in a coffee machine, such as a hose, brewing unit or milk-frothing valve. Its role is to create a tight and secure connection through which water, steam or air can flow without leaking.

When the part stops doing its job

Over time, the connector loses its elasticity, cracks or comes loose from its fitting. This shows up as dripping or leaking water around the joint, weak or irregular pressure during coffee preparation, hissing while frothing milk, or an error message on the coffee machine related to pressure or flow.
