What is a ceramic valve seal

The ceramic valve seal is a small rubber or silicone element that seats against the ceramic sleeve or valve plate and prevents water or steam from escaping the intended flow path. Thanks to it, the valve reliably switches between the individual stages of coffee brewing or milk frothing, and pressure stays where it should.

How to spot wear

When the seal loses elasticity or becomes damaged, you may notice dripping or hissing around the valve, fluctuating pressure, prolonged or uneven coffee extraction, or weaker steam during milk frothing. In some cases, an error message related to pressure or flow may also appear.

Why replace this part in time

A leaking valve puts strain on other components of the coffee machine, increases water and energy consumption, and can cause moisture damage to surrounding parts. Replacing the seal is a relatively simple and inexpensive fix that helps prevent bigger, costlier repairs.

Selection advice
